Rolex Vintage Submariner 1680 Tiffany Dial

This Submariner 1680 is in great, honest vintage condition with wear consistent with age. The case is in good condition with some scratches, nicks and wear; the bevels are still visible. The inner case back is engraved “1680”. The serial and reference numbers are clearly visible. The back of the five o’clock lug has a small hand-engraved number “16081.” It is possible this number is a Tiffany stock number or a watchmakers mark. The bezel ring has remained sharp and the insert is in great condition with some slight fading and wear, it still presents as black. The pip is a period correct replacement. The matte black dial is in excellent condition with light patina. The lume plots on the dial have all aged to an even and attractive marshmallow color. The hands have developed patina and the lume is a bit more yellow than the lume on the dial; this is not uncommon. It has a stainless steel 93150 Oyster bracelet with 11 links and no. 580 end links. The clasp is marked “VD” indicating it is from 1979.The bracelet is in overall good condition with scratches/ wear; it has some stretch between the links which is not uncommon for this style bracelet.
